Hello friends,
I was discussing with Marc about the idea of trying to generate interest on the English-speaking side of this forum again. The French side is so wonderful, and has such a diverse range of topics, experienced people, etc... The idea of having an agenda-free English speaking forum focusing on absinthe, its antiques, events, and history would be a wonderful benefit to this site. I am slowly learning French, and will eventually be more brave posting in French, but I also think expanding the English forum would be a good thing as well. The opportunity to welcome sincere and interested people can only benefit the world of absinthe, expand awareness and education, and be a good thing for all!
I know many in the French forum also speak, read and write in English, and your experience is a great asset....I would hope you would join in when possible! So my questions to you: Do you feel it is worth it? Do you have the time and/or interest? If yes, how do we spread the word and let people know?
If this were to grow, it would be very important to keep in the same tone and concept as the French forum, and I am sensitive to how important this is! I was just wondering what people thought. I am thankful for the few new friends in France I have made, and am so looking forward to meeting them and more of you in Pontarlier in October!
Best, Scott

Marc can attest, before the forum was transferred to museeabsinthe.com/forums it was oxygenee.com/forums when it began (about 7 years ago) - where discussion in English wasn't too uncommon.
I think it would be fun.

Absinthe is the litter of herbs and fruit that, once distilled, once consumed, can set the seat of the soul ablaze - and in this melee that is a world-in-want, only she can urge the mind to stillness. Find quiet and peace in a moment known; an instant she lends for your favor. Speak only to invite her back, and accept that it is you who is in her service!

If you ever have traffic enough to warrant a Moderator to be assigned to the "The Virtual Absinthe Museum - English Forum" - I volunteer.
Cheers, Marc.

You're absolutely right Grim, it was originally an english speaking forum, one can still read the old posts in the archives.
