I am coming to Absinthiades in October, and am flying into Geneva Thursday 29/9 (edit, merci E.P!) at 9:40 AM. I will likely rent a car, and am wondering if it is a good opportunity to visit Val de Travers on my way to Pontarlier, as they are so close. It is a short drive from Geneva to Pontarlier, and I could be there by noon easily on Thursday. Is anyone else going to be there that early? I would love to find interesting things to do! I think you mean 29/9 because on 29/10 the absinthiade will be over . When I got there 2 years ago flight were cheaper to paris than take the train to pontarlier ( 800$ montreal paris and lyon montreal)

Yes, corrected, a typo! Thanks. I got better airfare to Geneva, $800 roundtrip from NY, direct. It's also closer than Paris to Pontarlier.

Sorry but I had to move the English posts here.
I will arrive 1 or 2 days earlier I think, not sure yet. You will have time to visit the VdT, it's very close from Pontarlier and worth the visit. If I have time I'll go there with you, before or during the Absinthiades. -------------------- "Boire une absinthe, c’est corriger l’eau vertement."

but swiss train are more expensive than french so maybe the same price . Oh one advise get some swiss franc for bus to pontarlier because swiss don't really like euro .

There is absolutely no problem to pay with euro. Things changed since you've been in Switzerland EP
