My exploration of calvados brought me to pommeau, I found it a little too sweet, so today I mixed it with seltzer water at a ratio of 2:1. It is now light, refreshing and has lost most of its sweetness, good on a hot summer day.
Thanks for the link, Vega. Rum is likewise one of my favorite spirits (after bourbon and absinthe), and I'll give that cocktail a try as soon as I can. Right now, the only white rum I have (had) has been aging in an oak barrel, so I'll have to buy some more first.
Pierreverte, my girl loves Applejack, so I'll recommend that she try your Norman Boilermaker the next time we have some cidre in the house!
