Les cuillères à absinthe percées sont apparues vers 1875-1880, alors
que l'absinthe était déjà consommée depuis des décennies. Avant cette
époque, on consommait l'absinthe avec des cuillères à longs manches -
aussi appelées "cuillères à mazagran" - afin de mélanger le sucre
directement dans le verre. Ci-contre un catalogue d'époque montrant une
cuillère à absinthe de 18 cm et en dessous un dessin humoristique
(cliquez pour agrandir) montrant cette cuillère sur la table d'un

Perforated absinthe spoons appeared in 1875-1880, whereas absinthe was already drunk since decades.
Before then, absinthe was drunk using long spoons - also called "Mazagran spoons" - so that
sugar was directly mixed into the glass. On the top-right you can see a 19th catalogue showing an 18
centimeters absinthe spoon. Below it an humorous sketch (click to enlarge) showing the same long spoon on
